The Toronto Blue Jays (75-59) finally put some distance between themselves and the Baltimore Orioles (71-64) on Monday. They swept the double header at Oriole Park at Camden Yards, improving the Jays’ lead on the final AL wild card spot to 4.5 games. On Wednesday, they’ll have an opportunity to further that lead in the finale of the critical four-game set versus Baltimore.

Things seem to be coming together for the Blue Jays at just the right time. They’ve struggled with inconsistency from their bullpen all season, while combining hot pitching and hitting has alluded Toronto for much of the year. But with the calendar now turned to September, this bullpen has been white hot and they’re getting production up and down the lineup. Bo Bichette, in particular, has been on a torrid pace in the first games of September. The shortstop has hit .500 with three extra-base hits and five RBI. He’ll be key for the O’s if they hope to salvage the series.

In an effort to quell the Jays’ lethal offense, Baltimore will send Dean Kremer to the mound. Kremer has performed well so far in 2022, amassing a 3.22 ERA and 1.21 WHIP over 16 starts. He spun seven innings on August 16 versus Toronto, surrendering just two runs in the victory. Tune in to see if he can duplicate that effort with first pitching set for 7:05 PM ET.
