what playing time for young people? Galtier slices

In a press conference, before the Paris Saint-Germain match on the lawn of AC Ajaccio on Friday evening (12th day of Ligue 1), Christophe Galtier spoke about the playing time likely to be granted to two of its young elements.

Leader of the standings with three points ahead of FC Lorient, Paris Saint-Germain is expected Friday evening on the ground of AC Ajaccio, at the start of the 12th day of Ligue 1. For this meeting, Christophe Galtier notably summoned El Chadaille Bitshiabu and Warren Zaire-Emery, two young elements who chained the presences in the group while being satisfied with a very limited playing time. The 17-year-old central defender has not played a single game since the start of the 2022-2023 season, while the midfielder, only 16, has two appearances in Ligue 1, for a total of nine minutes played. Under contract until June 2025, the latter is on the shelves of a Ligue 1 club, in view of the winter transfer window.

“If they were in other clubs…”

During his last press briefing before the trip to Corsica, the Parisian coach detailed the management of their playing time. “El Chadaille has incredible potential. He trains with us but he started a little late because he had a muscle injury this summer. He is serious, he knocks on the door of the pro group, he works very well and he is diligent. But there is such a requirement and such an obligation of results that you need to have a little mastery and experience. These players, if they were in other clubs, we would have seen them more often on Ligue 1 grounds. They face significant, incredible, even very high competition. They learn every day during the sessions through technical quality. This allows them to grow too. Warren is working very well and we may see him tomorrow.”
